Objective To investigate the effects of repetitive local muscle vibration combined with mirror image visual feedback training on the upper limb function and finger mobility in stroke hemiplegic patients. Methods Seventy-eight patients with stroke hemiplegia admitted to a hospital in Changzhou from March 2019 to March 2020 were selected for the study. The patients were divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table
with 39 cases in each group. The two groups of patients were given mirror image visual feedback training in addition to conventional rehabilitation treatment
and patients in the observation group were given repetitive local muscle vibration treatment on the basis of the control group
both treated for 4 weeks. Before and after treatment
the patients in the two groups were compared in terms of Action Research Arm Test(ARAT) and Fugl-Meyer Assessment for upper extremity(FMA-UE) scores
finger mobility(maximum extension angle
maximum flexion angle and active range of motion of the second metacarpophalangeal joint on the affected side)
functional independence scale(FIM) and modified Barthel index(MBI) scores. Results Before treatment
the differences between the ARAT and FMA-UE scores of the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05);after treatment
the ARAT and FMA-UE scores in both groups were significantly higher than those before treatment
and those in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment
the differences between the two groups in the maximum extension angle
maximum flexion angle and active range of motion of the fingers were not statistically significant(P>0.05);after treatment
the maximum extension angle
maximum flexion angle and active range of motion of the fingers were significantly greater than those before treatment
and those in the observation group were significantly greater than those in the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment
the differences between the FIM and MBI scores of the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05);after treatment
the FIM and MBI scores of both groups were higher than before treatment
and those in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Repetitive local muscle vibration combined with mirror image visual feedback training can significantly enhance the function of upper limbs
improve finger mobility and enhance activities of daily living in stroke patients with hemiplegia;therefore
