and Xuyong）as well as its wild habitats and associated plants. Methods Based on the fourth national census of Chinese medicine resources

the data of Broussonetia papyrifera in the six counties were collected and analyzed to calculate the availability of resources. Results Broussonetia papyrifera was present in the six counties of southern Sichuan

commonly found at the edges of natural broad-leaved forests at 200～400 meters above sea level. Broussonetia papyrifera had wide adaptability within plant communities and co-existed with other species. There were significant differences in the availability of Broussonetia papyrifera in the six counties

following the order of Xuyong > Yibin > Jiang’an > Hejiang > Gong > Cuiping. Conclusion Broussonetia papyrifera has high availability and good adaptation in the six counties and can be further developed into increase local income.
