Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of curcumin combined with troxerutin in the patients with severe acute pancreatitis(SAP).Methods:This study included 84 SAP patients who were diagnosed and hospitalized from February 2019 to February 2020 in the Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at People’s Hospital of Leshan. These patients were randomized to control group and observation group
with 42 cases in each group. The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment
while the observation group was given curcumin combined with troxerutin in addition to the conventional Western medicine treatment. The clinical outcome
inflammatory response markers
and intestinal function were compared between the two groups after 1-week treatment. Results:The recovery time of intestinal function and the length of hospitalization following treatment were significantly shorter in the observation group than in the control group(P <0.05).After treatment
the proportions of Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus were significantly increased in the observation group
and they were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P <0.05);In contrast
significant reductions were observed in Escherichia coli
Enterococcus
endotoxin
D-lactic acid
C-reactive protein
interleukin-6
and tumor necrosis factor-α(P <0.05).Conclusion:Curcumin combined with troxerutin for SAP patients can reduce the inflammatory response and promote intestinal function recovery
and has good efficacy in improving patients’ condition.
