Objective The aim of this study is to determine the content of cadmium（Cd）in leek samples from the western regions of Chongqing and to investigate the pollution status of Cd. It can provide reference for Chongqing residents to purchase leeks

and can provide data support and directions for the late leek planting and soil treatment.Methods A total of 200 batches of leek samples were collected from the western regions of Chongqing from Apirl 2018 to November 2019

the cadmium（Cd）content was tested according to the corresponding national standard

date analysis was performed using SPSS 17.0 statistical software. Results The average content of cadmium（Cd）was 0.029 mg/kg

there were 11 samples（5.5%） exceeding the national limit value

the levels of Cd in leek were significantly different among different producing areas（P =0.007）.However

the differences in cadmium（Cd） in leek samples from different picking times and sampling locations were not statistically（P =0.496

0.715）. Conclusion The cadmium（Cd）content in leek from the western regions of Chongqing is at a relatively safe level

the public can purchase leek from different purchase places according to their preferences.
