This paper examines the concept of compassion fatigue

the expression of its symptoms

the evaluation tool of compassion fatigue and the factors affecting compassion fatigue by examining relevant literatures.It was discerned that the definitions proposed by the academic community stress such points as physical

emotional and mental conditions

along with trauma

stress

occurrence process

situation

and results

etc.Symptoms of compassion fatigue include physiological expression

psychological expression and social behavior.The factors affecting empathy fatigue are general demographic characteristics

individual psychological characteristics and the factors of work and organizational environments.Based on the current research status

the author suggests that the current research lacks experimental research

longitudinal research and intervention research

and research design and tools are also insufficient.We hope future researchers can overcome these shortcomings.
