Objective To evaluate the use of antihypertensive drugs in the outpatient and its tendency so as to provide a basis for rational drug use in clinic.Method The use of antihypertensive drugs in outpatient of yunnan university hospital from 2010to 2012was statistically analyzed with the method of retrospective analysis and adopting objective indexes such as limited daily dosage

frequency of drug use and daily medical fee.Results During the above-mentioned three years

antihypertensive drug with the largest amount of money among others is calcium channel blockers（CCB）

followed by angiotensin II receptor blockers（ARB）.Amount of money for use of these two types of drugs accounted for more than 80%of the total amount.The frequency of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor（ACEI）use showed an increasing tendency year after year.Conclusion Use of antihypertensive drugs in the outpatient of this university hospital is basically rational

which conforms to the principles of hypertension treatment.
