ZHAO Rui. Correlation Study of Perfectionism and Sense of Security in University Student[J]. Health Medicine Research and Practice, 2013,10(4):22-24.DOI:
Objective To probe into the correlation between perfectionism and sense of security in university students.Method A survey of 296university students was conducted using questionnaires like multidimensional perfectionism scale and sense of security scale. Results Differences in total scores on perfectionism between different genders were significant(t=2.723
p<0.01)
and those in the male were higher than the female.Differences in the dimension of parental expectation between different grades were significant(F=4.310
p<0.01)
and there were significant differences between only children and non-only children(t=2.005
p<0.05).Differences in total scores on sense of security between the only children and non-only children were significant(t=2.457
p<0.05).Score on dimension of interpersonal security in students from urban area was higher than those from rural area(t=2.270
p<0.05)
and that in the only children was higher than the non-only children(t=2.457
p<0.05).Perfectionism was negatively correlated with sense of security(r=-0.475
p<0.01).Concern over mistakes and doubts about actions in perfectionism were negative predictors of sense of security(p<0.05)while logic was a positive predictor of sense of security(p<0.05).Conclusion In general
perfectionism in university students is negatively correlated with their sense of security.Concern over mistakes
doubts about actions and logic are good predictors of sense of security.
