Objective To have knowledge about the health status of teaching and administrative staff in universities so as to provide a basis for the pointed prevention and control of nutrition and metabolism-related chronic diseases.Method Health examination was conducted for 1 006teaching and administrative staff in our university and the examination results were statistically analyzed.Results Among the teaching and administrative staff detected

there were 647cases who had diseases with a detection rate of 63.32%

which increased with age.There were 401males detected with a detection rate of 70.60%and 246females with a detection rate of 56.16%

the detection rate in the male was higher than the female（p<0.01）.Diseases with the detection rate ranked top four were fatty liver

hyperlipidemia

hypertension and diabetes.Conclusion The teaching and administrative staff have a relatively high morbidity rate of nutrition-related diseases

which shall be the focal point of disease prevention and control for the teaching and administrative staff.
