Objective To probe into the clinical therapeutic effect of arginine in combination with ornithine aspartate on hepatic encephalopathy.Method 52 patients with hepatic encephalopathy were divided into experimental group with 26 cases and control group with 26 cases randomly.The control group had routine treatment while the experimental group was treated with arginine in combination with ornithine aspartate on the basis of routine treatment for 7 days.The blood ammonia（NH3）

and the differences were statistically significant（p<0.05）;the recovery time of the experimental group was shorter than that of the control group

which was higher than that in the control group of 65.4%

and the differences were statistically significant（p<0.05）.Conclusion Arginine in combination with ornithine aspartate has definite therapeutic effect in treating the hepatic encephalopathy.
