Objective To explore the status quo of quality supervision managers in drug distributors

and to provide basis for the quality guarantee of the medicine in circulation.Method 791 people from drug distributors in Shanxi Province received self-evaluation of professional capability and a questionnaire about the demand to improve professional capability.The status of their academic degrees and further education etc.reported by distributors was statistically analyzed.Results The proportion of masters and bachelors was 35.0% in pharmaceutical wholesale enterprise

and it was 1.1% in retail business and individual pharmacies.78.9% of the quality supervision managers positioned themselves at weak and average level as for their pharmacy management ability

and 19.8% quality managers at good and excellent level.19.8% managers could give eight right answers to the ten questions about drug-concerned regulations.3.7% of the managers had certificates of computer proficiency examinations.Conclusion The problems of managers in drug distributors of shanxi province include an average low level of education background

unbalanced distribution of technicians

weak management ability

the lack of knowledge about relevant laws and regulations

weak capability of operating computers and poor further education etc.Drug distributors should provide more opportunities for quality supervision managers to receive in-service education

and their demands for improving professional quality and qualifications and for promoting professional titles should be satisfied so as to improve their ability of solving practical problems.
