Objective To explore the effect of regular aerobics exercise on bone mineral density of female college students.Method 60 female college students were chosen as the object of study.30 of them formed the group undergoing aerobics exercise for 20 weeks
and the other 30 students the control group having no regular exercise. As for relevant parameters such as stiffness index(STI)
T value and Z value of bone mineral density
two groups were both measured before the experiment and 20 weeks after it
and relevant data were compared and analyzed. Results For the group with aerobics exercise for 20 weeks
the differences in the increases of STI
T value and Z value before and after exercise were statistically significant(P<0.01).Whereas compared with the status before the experiment
there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05) in control group. Conclusion Regular aerobics exercise for 20 weeks can increase STI and bone mineral density. It is effective to help college students acquire more peak bone mass so as to prevent osteoporosis.
