Objective To explore effects of training plan for discharge from hospital on self-management ability of biliary extra-drainage patients.Method 100 patients were chosen randomly to be the experimental group

and they were received systematic training and instruction about relevant knowledge when they were in hospital and before they discharged from hospital.100 patients were the control group with no training.The patients would receive calls or follow-ups every week after they discharged from hospital.As for the grasp of relevant knowledge before and after the training of experimental group

the self-management ability of experimental and control group after discharged from hospital and treatment compliance and efficacy

the results were compared.Results The percent of pass of the knowledge test of biliary extra-drainage before training was 20.0%

and after training it was 81.0%（P<0.01）;after training

the proportion of patients in experimental group was higher than that in control group（P<0.01） in the aspects of protecting drainage tube actively and correctly

extruding the tube in centrifugal direction actively and regularly

writing down the condition of drainage voluntarily and preventing retrograde infection;the proportion of medical intervention to tube problem was lower in experimental group than that in control group（P<0.05 or P<0.01）.Conclusion The training plan for discharge to biliary extra-drainage patients promotes self-management ability and treatment compliance of patients.
