Objective Through the investigation and handling of the outbreak of chicken pox in a university in Beijing

to explore the causes of epidemic spreading

as well as the keys to prevention and control

in order to accumulate experience in the future to deal with similar outbreaks.Method Taking corresponding measures based on the situation of the epidemic throngh studying the cases and combining with epidemiological investigations.Results The outbreak has been identified as an outbreak of chicken pox epidemic.There were six cases and the morbidity rate was 8.0‰.The 5 cases happened from 29th December

2009 to 2nd January

2010 （accounting for 83.33% of the total attack）.The attack was in the the four rooms on the same floor in one dormitory building

and 3 cases shared one bedroom.Conclusion Students

living together in the event of chicken pox epidemic

are prone to outbreaks of chicken pox.Prevention in colleges and universities can not be ignored.
