Objective To explore the understanding and consciousness of participation in medical insurance of university students

and to provide the information for the university students’ medical revolution. Method Choose 560 medical students or non-medical students in 7 universities in Guangzhou to fill in the questionnaires. Results 62.9% medical university students and 51.4% non-medical university students has the risk consciousness. 64.4% medicine students and 59.5% non-medicine approve of the medical insurance playing a great role in individual and family medical expense burden. 54.1% medical students and 55.1% non-medical purchase medical insurance through schools. 58.9% medical students and 65.5% non-medical thought the purchase of Ping An Insurance is of great benefit to students. Conclusion University student’s consciousness of medical insurance should be strengthen.
