Objective This study is to explore the diseases distribution of new university students

in order to readjust medical measure

care for their health and serve the students’ health better. Method We registered 4 000 freshmen of the outpatients in grade 2004 in south china normal university

arranged and analyzed these data. Results In the first term

the total person-times of outpatients were 5 687

the average time of every student seeing doctor was 1.42. The number of man students and female students to see doctor is nearly equal. The number seeing a doctor in september is 1 762

owning 30.98 % in a school term of 5 months. The respiratory system disease were 2 981 person-times

its proportion is 52.42 %

which was the most among the total diseases in the new university students. Skin disease

digestive system disease and eye disease also usually happened. Conclusion The peak-hour seeing a doccor for freshman is the september

when freshmen participate in the militany training. The respiratory disease is the most comman. So the prevention of diseases especially the respiratory disease should be strengthen.
