Objective　To explore the role of innovation and entrepreneurship training program in cultivating scientific research ability of medical undergraduates. Methods　A total of 122 students majored in clinical medicine were randomly selected; 62 of them in the control group were given traditional teaching

and 60 of them in the experimental group were given innovation and entrepreneurship training program on the basis of traditional teaching. At the end of the semester

questionnaire survey and final course assessment were conducted on students' scientific research ability

learning effect and comprehensive scientific research ability. SPSS 17.0 software was used to analyze the data. Chi-square test (α=0.05) was used for counting

and Mann-Whitney U rank test was used for ranking data. Results　Literature reading

teamwork cooperation and clinical thinking ability of students in the experimental group were significantly better than those in the control group; score of experimental report in the experimental group was also significantly better than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion　Taking innovation and entrepreneurship training program as an opportunity to carry out training and practice of innovative thinking and ability in scientific research can improve the scientific research ability of medical undergraduates.
