Holistic nursing in magnetic resonance imaging examination of patients with knee bone tumor
Objective To investigate the effect of holistic nursing in patients with knee bone tumors via MRI. Methods Seventy-eight patients with knee bone tumors who underwent MRI in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from June 2021 to December 2022 were selected and randomly assigned to the observation group and control group following the envelope method
with 39 cases in each group. Routine nursing was employed in the control group and holistic nursing in the observation group. The scores of the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and self-rating depression scale(SDS) before and after the examination were compared between the two groups. The compliance
nursing satisfaction
and contrast medium leakage were examined. Results There was no significant difference in SAS and SDS scores before the examination between the two groups(P>0.05). The SAS and SDS scores after examination in the two groups were lower than those before the examination
and the observation group was lower than the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The compliance rate of examination in the observation group was 97.44%(38/39)
which was higher than that in the control group(79.49%
31/39)
and the difference was statistically significant(χ~2 =4.522
P=0.033). The incidence of contrast medium leakage in the observation group was 2.56%(1/39)
which was lower than that in the control group(12.82%
5/39)
but the difference was not statistically significant(χ~2=1.625
P=0.202). The satisfaction rate of nursing in the observation group was 94.87%(37/39)
which was higher than that in the control group(74.36%
29/39)
and the difference was statistically significant(χ~2=6.303
P=0.012). Conclusion The use of holistic nursing intervention in MRI examination of patients with knee bone tumors can effectively relieve the negative emotion of patients
improve examination compliance
reduce the risk of contrast medium leakage
ensure the image quality of MRI scan and raise nursing satisfaction.
