Effect of predictive nursing in the prevention of neonatal infection
Objective To explore the value of predictive nursing in the prevention of neonatal infection. Methods A total of 116 newborns born in the Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Jiaozuo City from July 2019 to February 2022 were selected as the study subjects and assigned to the experimental group and the control group by the random number table
with 58 cases in each group. Neonates in the control group received routine care
and neonates in the experimental group received predictive care in addition to the care in the control group. The incidence of neonatal infection
length of hospital stay
nursing safety score
nursing quality score
and family nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of neonatal infection in the experimental group was 3.45%(2/58)
which was lower than that in the control group(15.52%
9/58)
and the difference was statistically significant(χ~2=4.921
P=0.027). The neonatal hospital stay in the experimental group was 5.16±0.43 d
which was shorter than that in the control group(7.69±0.87 d)
and the difference was statistically significant(t=19.854
P<0.001). The neonatal nursing safety score and nursing quality score in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The satisfaction rate of family care in the experimental group was 98.28%(57/58)
which was higher than that in the control group(86.21%
50/58)
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Predictive nursing is beneficial to reduce the risk of neonatal infection
shorten the length of hospital stay
and improve the quality of nursing care and family satisfaction.
