Effect of the multimedia-driven mobile nursing workstation in preoperative health education of patients receiving minimally invasive Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography
Objective To explore the effect of the multimedia-driven mobile nursing workstation in preoperative health education of patients who underwent minimally invasive endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP). Methods A total of 92 patients with minimally invasive ERCP from January 2021 to July 2021 were selected as the subjects and randomly assigned to the control group(n=46) and the observation group(n=46). The patients in the control group received routine health education intervention
and the patients in the observation group health education intervention with the multimedia-driven mobile nursing workstation on top of the routine intervention in the control group. Patients in both groups received consecutive interventions until 1 d before surgery. The disease-related knowledge and satisfaction for nursing at discharge were compared between the two groups. The systolic blood pressure(SBP)
diastolic blood pressure(DBP)
and heart rate(HR) indexes at admission and before the operation were compared between the two groups. The Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA) and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)
comparison of the incidence of complications during hospitalization between the two groups of patients
the incidence of complications during intervention was compared between the two groups. Results The mastery rate of disease-related knowledge in the observation group at discharge was 50.00% and the satisfaction for nursing was 45.65%
which was higher than those in the control group( 26.08% and 21.73%)
with statistical significance(P<0.05). At admission
there was no significant difference in SBP
DBP
HR
HAMA and HAMD scores between the two groups(P>0.05). Before the operation
the SBP
DBP
HR
HAMA and HAMD scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The incidence of complications during hospitalization in the observation group was 4.35%
which was lower than that in the control group(17.39%)
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The use of multimedia-driven mobile nursing workstation in preoperative health education of patients with minimally invasive ERCP can effectively improve patients’ disease-related knowledge and patient satisfaction for nursing
ameliorate psychological state
maintain stable blood pressure
and reduce the risk of complications. These benefits justify a wider application of this procedure in clinical practice.
