Impact of evidence-based care based on case analysis on postoperative recovery in ICU patients with craniocerebral trauma
Objective To explore the impact of evidence-based care based on case analysis on postoperative recovery in patients with craniocerebral trauma in ICU. Methods Ninety patients with craniocerebral trauma admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Fujian Province from December 2018 to December 2020 were selected for the study
and the patients were divided into observation and control groups using the random number table method
with 45 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received conventional care
and patients in the observation group were given evidence-based care based on case analysis on the basis of the control group. The time of mechanical ventilation
length of ICU stay and hospital stay were compared between the two groups; the quality of life before and at 30 d of intervention was assessed using the general quality of life index(GQOLI-74); the occurrence of complications was compared between the two groups at discharge. Results The time of mechanical ventilation
length of ICU stay and hospitalization time of patients in the observation group were 3.62±2.25 d
6.28±1.14 d and 10.26±2.11 d
respectively
which were shorter than those of the control group(7.03±1.88 d
9.73±2.05 d and 15.37±2.58 d). The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). After the intervention
the scores of physical function
psychological function
social function
and material life status in the GQOLI-74 of patients in the two groups were higher than those before the intervention
and the observation group was higher than the control group. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The complication rate of patients in the observation group was 6.66%
which was lower than 17.78% in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The implementation of evidence-based care based on case analysis for patients with craniocerebral trauma in ICU can better promote patients’ recovery
shorten patients’ mechanical ventilation time
ICU transfer time and hospitalization time
improve patients’ quality of life and reduce the incidence of complications
which has high clinical value and can be further promoted in the nursing interventions for patients with craniocerebral trauma in ICU.
