Effect of progressive rehabilitation nursing on postoperative rehabilitation of elderly patients with fracture
Objective To explore the effect of progressive rehabilitation nursing on postoperative rehabilitation of elderly patients with fracture. Methods A total of 118 elderly patients with fracture treated in a hospital in Henan Province from March 2018 to May 2020 were randomly divided into study group and control group
with 59 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with routine nursing intervention
and the patients in the study group were treated with progressive rehabilitation nursing on the basis of the control group. The compliance of rehabilitation exercise
recovery situation
complications
Barthel index(BI) and Oswestry disability index(ODI) scores before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results The compliance rate of rehabilitation exercise in the study group was 98.31%
which was higher than that in the control group(86.44%)
and the difference was statistically significant(χ
2
=4.330
P=0.037). After intervention
the BI score of the study group was higher than that of the control group
while the ODI score of the study group was lower than that of the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(P
<
0.05). The length of hospital stay and fracture healing time in the study group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P
<
0.05). The incidence of complications in the study group was 3.39%
which was lower than that in the control group(15.25%). The difference was statistically significant(χ
2
=4.913
P=0.027). Conclusion Progressive rehabilitation nursing is used for postoperative rehabilitation of elderly patients with fracture
which can improve patients’ compliance with rehabilitation exercise
reduce the incidence of complications
speed up the process of rehabilitation
promote fracture healing
reduce dysfunction and improve the ability of daily living.
