Relationship between hyperuricemia and cardiovascular disease risk factors in faculty of a costal Shandong university
Objective To investigate the prevalence rate of hyperuricemia(HUA)in faculty of a Shandong costal university and to explore the relationship between HUA and risk factors of cardiovascular disease. Methods The data of physical examination of 7 392 faculty members in the school hospital of Ocean University of China from2014 to 2017(data of 1 842 members in 2014
1 475 members in 2015
1 960 members in 2016 and 2 115 members in 2017)were collected.Multiple linear regression and Spearman′s rank correlation coefficient were conducted to analyze the relationship between HUA and cardiovascular disease risk factors
including age
body mass index(BMI)
systolic blood pressure(SBP)
diastolic blood pressure(DBP)
fasting plasma glucose(FPG)
triglyceride(TG)
total cholesterol(TC)
high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C)and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C).Logistic regression was used to investigate factors influencing SUA.Results Among those objects
660 members were detected with HUA(8.9%)
including 532 males(7.2%)and 128 females(1.7%)
with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).HUA in faculty in different age groups showed as follows:detection rate of male HUA in different age groups had no statistically significant difference(P>0.05);male during 30-39 years old had the highest detection rate of HUA.Detection rate of female HUA in different age groups had statistically significant difference(P<0.05);female during 30-39 years old and 40-49 years old had high detection rates.Besides
male HUA were higher than female HUA in all age groups
with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Except the age
differences of gender
blood pressure
blood glucose and blood fat in HUA group and non-HUA group were statistically significant(P<0.05);in the HUA group
factors including male
blood pressure and blood fat(except HDL-C)were higher than those in the non-HUA group.HUA had a positive relationship with age
BMI
SBP
DBP
FPG
TG
TC and LDL-C(P<0.05)
and had a negative relationship with HDL-C(P<0.05).Results of multiple linear regression showed that gender
age
BMI
DBP
FPG
TG
TC
HDL-C and LDL-C could influence SUA levels(P<0.05).And results of multiple factor Logistic regression showed that age(OR=0.973)
TC(OR=1.441)and HDL-C(OR=0.436)were main factors influencing male HUA
while BMI(OR=1.191)
FPG(OR=1.407)
TG(OR=1.623)
TC(OR=1.228)and HDL-C(OR=0.320)were main factors influencing female HUA.Conclusion The risk of HUA in males is higher than that in females in the costal Shandong district
and men with young and middle age had the highest detection rate.HUA has a close relationship with risk factors of cardiovascular diseases
including gender
age
BMI
blood pressure
blood glucose and blood fat.Therefore
we suggest that taking different measures in different gender and age when preventing HUA.On the basis of controlling BMI and TC
male should pay more attention to blood pressure(especially DBP)and female should pay more attention to blood glucose and TG.
