Objective To explore the better management methods of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) and electric defibrillation skills training and assessment. Methods We chose CPR and defibrillation skills as assessment projects
developed a standard operating process
recorded the standard operating video
and used CPR models and defibrillator models to train and assess 1258 nurses of our hospital
then
analyzed the results. Results All the 1258 nurses were qualified
the median score was 88.0
the quartile spacing was 7.5. The lowest three step-scores were as follows: correctly use defibrillator
chest compressions/bag-mask ventilation and quality of CPR. They did well in immediate recognition and activation of the emergency response system. Nurses with professional-titles got better results in total score(89.0
7.5
P<0.05)
chest compressions/bag-mask ventilation(P<0.05) and quality of CPR(P<0.05). Conclusions It is necessary to pay attention to the training and assessment of CPR and electric defibrillation skills on nurses. A sound system needs to be established
advanced and effective training methods need to be used to carry on repeated training and regular assessment. Low-grade nursing staff need more training to achieve the standard level.
