Objective: To improve the training effect of emergency airway management,Studying the training mode of emergency airway management based on clinical process. Methods: According to the clinical treatment principle centered on patient safety
combined with actual process
airway management training courses were designed. The course is based on the CHANNEL process of airway management
focusing on artificial ventilation and oxygen therapy techniques
rapid induction of intubation techniques. The teaching process takes clinical process as main line
and uses the methods of equipment display
video presentation and on-site explaination. Sign up in free registration or orientation. After the class
the online questionnaires were used to collect feedback from the students in the emergency airway management course and analyze them. Results: 15 training sessions were held in 13 cities across the country
with 566 participants. 185 responses were received
including 1 for primary hospitals
31 for secondary hospitals
150 for tertiary hospitals
and 3 for other medical institutions. There are 49 junior titles
87 intermediate titles
and 49 senior titles. To the content of the single course
the first three parts that the students thought were difficult to understand are oxygen therapy (48
accounting for 25.9%)
CHANNEL process explanation and exercise (48
accounting for 25.9%)
rapid induction of intubation process (47
accounting for 25.4%). After class
41 people (22.2%) changed the workflow of emergency airway management
140 (75.7%) partially changed the workflow of emergency airway management
and 4 (2.2%) still used the original workflow. Conclusion: The course of emergency airway management based on clinical process meets the current clinical needs and can better improve the clinical competency.
