Objective To investigate the effectiveness of micro-videos from functional experiments assisted instruction with traditional teaching in the teaching of physiology. Methods The clinical students from Class1-2 and Class3-4 of Grade 2017 were randomly divid-ed as the control group and the experimental group. The control group adopted the tra-ditional teaching method. The experimental group adopted micro-videos from functional experiments assisted instruction with traditional teaching for physiology teaching. At the end of the course
questionnaire survey and examination performance analysis were evaluated. Results Experimental students did better in final exam
and there were sig-nificant differences in the final exam results between the experimental group and the control group [(81.02±9.64) vs. (73.41±11.39)
t=-5.805
P=0.000]. The scores of Chapter 2 [(8.07±0.94) vs. (6.14±1.05)
t=-15.616
P=0.000]
Chapter 4 [(16.16±1.79) vs. (10.9±2.23)
t=-20.903
P=0.000] and Chapter 6 [(6.04±0.53) vs. (5.82±0.78)
t=-2.638
P=0.009] were also statistically significant different between two groups. More than 90% experimental students were interested in this teaching method and believed that this method could improve their learning ability and help them understand important knowledge. Conclusion Micro-videos from functional experi-ments assisted instruction with traditional teaching can improve the effect of learning and teaching quality of physiology.
