The examination with multiple-choice-questions(MCQ)has been used widely in recent years. Although there are many advantages for MCQ

some disadventages still exist yet.For example

we can’t get exact mode of students’ comprehention of certain concrete problems

nor the ability to narrate or discuss some questions.Therefore

answering questions and explaining terms

so called non-multiple-choice questions(NMCQ)

are still adopted by many schools.According to the concrete practice of the final examination of physiology last semester

we have got some ideas about the analytic method of the results of NMCQ Total 440 students’ grades had been investigated.According to the coefficients of skewness and kurtosis

and the coefficient of correlation between NMCQ and MCQ/ordinary results

it im- plies that the results of NMCQ are reliable.The coefficients of correlation between the differen- tial index and actual results to full mark ratio

and other data provided evidence that the comm- on formulae for the calculation of differential index and difficulty index are unreasonable.A new method for calculation has been proposed in this stndy.
