Ketoprofen is a new anti-inflammatory analgestic drug

which has a definite effect on post -operative

posttramatic conditions

lumbaog-sciatica syndrom

and degenerative arthritis etc. 20 cases of spondyllitis

16 of lumbardisc herniation syndrom

15 of cervicoalgia-brachialgia

22 of ost eoaithritis were treated with local-made ketoprofen (Synthesized by Chongqing Southwest Syn thetic Pharmaceutical Industry) 150mg daily. We also gave ketoprofen 50-150me to 293 patien ts who had undergone orthopedic operations 3~4 days before or who were in posttraumatic co nditions and some others. In open clinical trials

a total of 366 patients have been treated with ketoprofen

exellent and good results (i. e. more than 50% improvement) have been observed in 276 cases (75.4%)

moderate effect (i. e. less than 50% improvement) in 57 (15.6 %)

and no effect in 33 (9%).The open trial seems to show that local-made ketoprofen is a useful analgestic and antiphlogistic compound

and has a few mild side-effects.
