This report presents the results of treatment of 948 consecutive cases with burns admitted to First Hospital

Chongqing Medical College during the period 1960-1983.There are 43 deaths

the group with a mortality of 4.53%.72% of all the burn deaths aged younger than 50 years

but the mortality of the group aged more than 50 years is higher than those less than 50 years. Deaths occured about 58.13 per cent among those petients admitted late. About the causes of death

burn wound sepsis still was the main cause. The burns were graded according to the total surface area involved and by application of probit analysis of their mortality

LA50 for the group was 84 per cent

which is comparable to the results reported in our country.
