rapid polymerase chain reaction(PCR)- based assay for detection of Chlamydia tra-chmatis in cervical specimens is presented.The results revealed that Chlamydia trachomatis wasfound in cervical specimens in 21 of 57 cases(36.84%)of vaginitis and /of chronic cervical in-flammation.It is known that Chlamydia trachmatis is the main pathogen in the genital tract ofwomen. Most patients are below 30.Clinical manifestations include mild infection in the genitaltract of mosl cases and a little purnlent discharge. The severity of Chlamydia trachmatis infec-tion is added along、with cervical erobions worsened.Chlamydia trachomatis can not be found inthe genital tract of normal women
