mmunohistochemical localization of lysozyme was cxamined in various types of gastric carcinoma and itsmetastatic lymphonodes as well as the resected gastric tissue with duodemal ulcers which were as control. The lysozyme revealed the most intense staining in the mucinous cell carcino-ma and a tendency to show the more intense reactions in metastatic cancer cells of local lymphonodes thanthose in original lesions. The enzyme is also displayed in neck mucinous cells of propria gland and columearepithlial cells at the bottom of the foveola which were in the resected gastric mocosa with duodenal ulcers.The majority of enzyme labelled by gold particals was aggregated in secretroy granules with moderate electrondensity.
