he serum zinc was detcted before and after treatment in 23 children with acrodermatitisenteropathica. The results showed that prior to treatinent all children had a very low level ofserum zinc
which recovered significantly after treatment with zinc sulfate(P<0.001)
Clinicalsymptoms disappeared at the same time.But there was no obvious disappearedat the same time. But there was no obvious improvement in serum zinc after treatment with clioquinol(P>0.05).These indicatied that the deficiency of zinc played an important role in the pathogenesis ofacrodermatitis enteropathica.
