Positivecorrelation between plasma glucose and lactate was observed. This study demonstrated that hyperglycemia was a common metabolic finding in critically ill cliildren iinder stress. When plasma glucose reaches> 15 mmol/land plasma lactate > 5mmol/l
the mortality of MOFchildren increased ohviously. Tlie authors believe that the change of blood gliicose and lactate levels can be used as a prognosticsign of the sick in PICU.
