CT features only for biliary tract dilation in malignant and benign obstructive jaundice were analysed. The authors found that modertedly and markedly dilated(73.1%) of intrahepatic ductm
or in viny like dilation(57.7%)and abrupt termination of mostly dilated distal in portion of extrahepatic biliary duct (95.7%) was characteristic of malignant lesion.Minimally dilated of intrahepatic duct (63.6%)
or in bamboo (68.2%)
and gradual tapering at proximal portion of extrahepatic dialated duct (84.2%)was specific for benign disease.According to the degree and shape of dilated intrahepatic bile ducts
the changes of dilated cxtahepatic bilie duct
could distingnish malignant from benign obstruction.
