Wu Feng, et al. CHANGES OF PLASMA CLUTAMINE LEVEL IN RATS AFTER MASSIVE SMALL BOWET RESECTION[J]. Journal of Chongqing Medical University, 1996,(2).DOI:
ecent studies demostrated that glutamine is the principal fuel userl by the gastrointestinaltract
and the small intestine is the main organ of glutamine
consumption. This study wasdesiqned to investigate the series changes of plasma glutamine in rats after massive small bowelresection
and explored the relation between the clianges of cnculating glutamine and the remnantintestinal mucosa adaptatior. In the lst to 14th postoperative days
a high fasting level of plasmaglutamine was found with the highest value on the 7th postoperative day. However
there was nostatistical difference in comparison with the contml group(P>0.05).Thls paper discussed thatglutamine has trophic effect on the intestinal mucosa and suggested that glutamine may havewidespread application in the repair of remnant gastrointestinal tissue after massivc small bewelresection.
