URINARY N-ACETY1-β-D-GLUCOSAMIMDASE DETERMINATION FOR DETECTION OF DIABETIC NEPHROPATHY AT EARLYSTAGE[J]. Journal of Chongqing Medical University, 1996,(3).DOI:
rinary N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase activity(NAG)and urinary albumin(ALB)wereexamined in 42 patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.The results showed:(1)Indiabetic group A(ALB < 50mg/L)
the percentages of increased values of urinary NAG and ALBwere 66.7%and 70.8%respectively.Between them there was no significant dif-ference(P> 0.05)
which suggested that NAG was similar to ALB in sensitivity for detection ofdiabetic nephropathy at early stage;(2)In diabetic group A
11 patients(45.8%)presented a mixedelevation of both NAG and ALB
and 5 patients(20.8%)and6(25.0%)showed only an elevation ofNAG or ALB respectively. It seems that quantitation of both urinary NAG and ALB is the best wayfor scroening of early renal involvement in patients with diabetes mellitus.
