Twenty partients underwent various elective surgery were randomly divided into2 groups
group P(propofol)and group T(thiopentone). The induction method was IV propofol 2mg/Kg or thiopentone 5mg/kg
Theintra-ocular pressure was measured during induction and induction with propofol or thiopentone. Themeasured data show that both propofol and thiopentone produced a reduction in intra-ocular pressure
butpropofol was clearly more effective that thiopentone in this respect(P<0.01).The administration of propofolresulted in good control of intra-ocular pressure during tracheal intubation
this show that propofol is a moreideal intravenous anaesthetic agent fot the success of intra-ocular gurgery.
