Measurement of serum IgM level and treatment with prednison in patients with motor neuron disease[J]. Journal of Chongqing Medical University, 1997,(1).DOI:
The Contents of immunoglobulin oligoclonal antibody IgM in serum were measured in 20 patients with motor neuron disease and 20 normal subjects. The result showed that the average content of patients with motor neuron disease before treatment (1695 55±504 63mg/L) was higher obviously than that of normal subjects (782±1 27 11mg/L). The average content of serum IgM reduced in patients with motor neuron disease (821±227mg/L) after treatment with prednison
and their symptoms improved obviously. The results suggested that IgM participated in pathogenesis of motor neuron disease. It’s advisable to use prednison. treating the patients with motor neuron disease whose serum IgM contents were ligh.
