glucogan and somatostatin antisera.The results showed that the degree of degeneration and necrosis weakened obviously for the pancreatic B-cells in Ⅱ and Ⅲ compared with I

the pancreatic islets of positive staining for insulin antiserum were 44.6% and 34.9% respectively

which was higher than that(23.3%)in I

and signoficant difference between Ⅱ andⅠ (P<0.05)was observed.Among all the three groups

hyperl- asia was seen in the panereatic A-cells

but no pathologic change demostrated in the pancrestic D - cells.The results indicate that streptozotocin can cause the direct damage to the B - cells and taurine has repairing effect against the damage of the pancreatic D-cells by streptozotocin.Hyperplasia of the A - cells my be related to administered streptozotocin and involved in hyperglycemia in Wistar rats.
