The changes of skin expanding extent and bio’nechanics after presuturing were observed in a model of whitepig. The results showed that at 24hr
48hr and 72hr after presutureing
the areas of skin were expanded by 27.2%
31.5K and 58.3%
respectively; and comparing with unexpanded skin
the thickness of epidermis and dermis ofexpanded skin was thinner with significant difference. The electron microscopic observation showed that in therough endoplasmic reticulum of fibroblasts vacuolar degeneratio could be seen
but no nuclear necrosis wasfound. After while
presutureing was performed on 10 patients with scars. and the scars were excised 1-2 daysafter presuturing with satisfactory healing. It is indicated that presuturing is an useful method in treating therather extensive scar or other scars defects
