Cai Sufang, et al. A randomized controlled clinical trial of sulperazone as compared withcefotaxime in the treatment of bacterial infections[J]. Journal of Chongqing Medical University, 1999,(2).DOI:
randomized controlled clinical trial to observe the efficacy and safety of sulperazone as compared with cefotaxime in the treatment of 43 cases of bacterial infections was conducted. The overall clinical efficacy rates of sulperazone and cefotaxime were 96% and 88. 9% respectively
the bacterial clearance rates 100% and 93.5 % respectively. The adverse drug reactions were mild with the rate of 4% and 5.6 % respectively. There were no statistical differences between the two groups in both efficacy and safety. The results of disc susceptibility test showed thatthe sensitive rate of bacteria to sulperazone was 100 %
which was significantly higher than that of cefotaxime. It is recommended that sulperazone can be used in the treatment of moderate and severe infections cases by sensitive bacteria
