Objective: To investigate the expression and significance of Fas
Fas ligand in carcinogenesis of gastric mucosa. Methods: SP immunohistochemistry. Results: The expression rate of Fas in chronic superficial gastritis group was significantly higher than that of dysplasia and gastric cancer groups (P<0.05). The expression rate of Fas ligand in chronic superficial gastritis group was significantly lower than that of other groups ( P<0.05). In the patients with gastric cancer
the expression rates of Fas and Fas ligand were correlated with the degree of differentiation. Conclusion: The abnormal expression of Fas and Fas ligand in carcinogenesis of gastric mucosa may be involved in the pathogenesis and differentiation of gastric cancer.
