Objective: αTo investigate the serum FFA and TNF- levels of the PCOS with insulin resistance 、α(IR)
and the relationship between FFATNF- and the Homa IR. Methods: The serum levels of FFA and TNFα-
in 118 cases of PCOS and 34 cases of non-PCOS but infertility
were determined. According to the results of the fasting blood glucose (FBG) and the fasting insulin levels (FINS)
Homa IR was calculated. Furthermore the cases
who were PCOS with IR
were received rosiglitazone (Avandia) and observed the relevant factors changed after the treatmant. Results: α The levels of FFA and TNF- in the patients of the PCOS group were significantly higher than that in the non-PCOS group (P<0.05). In the patients who received rosiglitazone treatment
the serum αlevels of fasting insulin
fasting C peptide
2h blood glucose
2h insulin
2h C peptide
FFA
TNF-and Homa IR were decreased significantly as compared with those before the treatment (P<0.05
respectively). Conclusion: The αserum FFA and TNF- levels of the PCOS group were higher than the normals
and the two were related positively to Homa IR. FFA and αTNF- can be the criteria of the treatment for the PCOS with IR.
