Objective:To elucidate the effect of osteogenic growth peptide(OGP) on proliferation and protein synthesis of human PDLCs in vitro. Methods:Human PDLCs were cultured individually in medium contained various concentrations of OGP;and cell proliferation quantity and protein synthesis were examined by MTT and coom asie brilliant blue staining. Results:In vitro
the addition of OGP in cultures resulted in an increase of cell proliferation(P<0.05)and protein synthesi(sP<0.05).All OGP concentrations used(10-11~10-7 mol/L) were effective but the maximum response was obtained with 10-9mol/L OGP.Conclusion:OGP stimulates proliferation and protein synthesis of human PDLCs in vitro
suggesting that OGP is a promising growth factor in the region of periodontal tissue regeneration.
