Objective:To evaluate the effect and mechanism ofintraoperative regional arterial infusion chemotherapy(RAIC)on gastric cancer. Methods: The expressions of Ki-67 and VEGF
in 30 cases of gastric cancer
before and after the treatment of intraoperative RAIC
were shown by SP immunohistochemical staining. And pathological changes of tumor were detected. Results:After the intraoperative RAIC
the expressions of Ki-67 and VEGF were significantly lower than those before treatmen(tP<0.05).Light microscope examination revealed a mild change of karyopyknosis
nuclear swelling
coagulation of cytoplasm in cancer cells
mild hydropsia of intercellular substance
invasion of inflammatory cells and mild vasculitis in some cases. Transmission electron microscope found that nuclear swelling
nuclear heterochromatin agglutination
nuclear-week gap expansion
mitochondrial swelling
endoplasmic reticulum expansion
and Golgi complex expansion. Conclusion:The intraoperative RAIC for gastric cancer could obviously depress the expressions of Ki-67 and VEGF and cause the histo-pathological changes of cancer cells. Intra operative RAIC could significantly inhibit invasion activity of cancer cells and reduce iatrogenic metastasis and post operative recurrence rate.
