interleukin(IL)-18 and interferon(IFN)-γ in the plasma of patients with vascular dementia
and to observe role of Livin
VEGF
IL-18 and IFN-γ in the pathogenesis of vascular dementia. Methods:Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was used to detect the concentration of Livin
VEGF
IL-18 and IFN-γ in the serum of patients with vascular dementia. Results:Serum level of Livin and VEGF in the patients with vascular dementia were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.001). Serum level of IL-18 and IFN-γ in the patients with vascular dementia were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.001). Serum level of IL-18 was significantly positively correlated with IFN-γ in the patients. Serum level of IL-18 and IFN-γ in the patients showed negative correlation with Livin and VEGF. Conclutions:The concentration of IL-18 and IFN-γ in patients with vascular dementia were significantly higher and associated with Livin and VEGF. This suggested that IL-18
IFN-γ may be both involved in the functional and structural integrity of vessel in the process of vascular dementia.
