Objective: To investigate the intima-media thickness(IMT) of carotid artery and endothelium-dependent dilation(EDD)
and evaluate the relationship between pain and arterial endothelium function on menopause women during preopertion. Methods: The IMT and EDD in 30 menopause women were measuring by using B-mode ultrasound
pre-operatively and post-operatively;The visual analogue score(VSA) were mead pre-operatively and post-operatively.Results:IMT on carotid artery was(0.78±0.37)mm;EDD(5.2%±1.0%) at 2 hour after recovery from anesthesia was significantly lower than pre-operative EDD(6.2%±1.5%)(P<0.05).VSA(4.9±2.7) at 2 hour after recovery from anesthesia was significantly lower than pre-operative VSA(1.03±1.9)(P<0.001).Dependent relations existed between EDD and pains(r=0.868
P=0.032).Conclusion: This is significant relationship between pain and arterial endothelium function in menopause women during preopertion.
