Objective:To observe the plasma omentin-1 levels in non-obesity subjects with different glucose tolerance
investigate the effects of pioglitazone and short-term continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion(CSII) on plasma omentin-1 levels in patients with new-onset type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods:59 patients with new-onset T2DM were treated with pioglitazone for 12 weeks or CSII for 2 weeks
respectively.Plasma omentin-1 levels were measured by an ELISA kit.The association between plasma omentin-1 levels and metabolic parameters were analyzed. Results:Fasting plasma omentin-1 levels were reduced in T2DM than in NGT groups(26.13±6.20 vs 22.01±7.51 vs 17.58±8.81) μg/L
P<0.05.Both pioglitazone and CSII therapy significantly elevated omentin-1 levels(22.01±7.51 vs 24.45±7.31) μg/L
(17.58±8.81 vs 22.32±8.69) μg/L
P<0.05 accompany with a decrease in HOMA-IR.Conclusion:In non-obesity T2DM patients
plasma omentin-1 levels are decreased
but significantly reverse after pioglitazone and CSII treatment.Omentin-1 may be associated with the severity(indicated as HbA1c values) and insulin resistance(indicated as HOMA-IR values) in T2DM.
