Objective:To investigate the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and its soluble receptor 1(sFlt-1) in ovarian tissues and serum of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) and control group. Methods:Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was used to investigate the expressions of VEGF and sFlt-1 in the serum of 46 PCOS patients(experimental group) and 25 normal control subjects(control group). The levels of VEGF and sFlt-1 in ovarian tissues were detected by Sp immunohistochemical method(including 9 PCOS cases and 7 control cases).Results:1.In serum
VEGF and sFlt-1 concentrations were 49.18 pg/ml and 49.25 ng/L respectively in PCOS group
and were 34.45 pg/ml and 389.37 ng/L respectively in the control group. There were significant differences in the two groups(P<0.05).2.In ovarian tissues
VEGF and sFlt-1 expressions were 0.24±0.03 and 0.17±0.04 respectively in PCOS group
and were 0.18±0.02 and 0.26±0.05 in control group. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).3.In serum and ovarian tissues
VEGF bioavailability(VEGF/sFlt-1) was higher than that in control group
and the differences were statistically significant.4.Research in serum VEGF and sFlt-1 correlation found there was negative correlation(rs=-0.435
P<0.05).Conclusion:In serum and ovarian tissues
the decrease of sFlt-1 expression may increase the expression the VEGF
and they both may participate in the formation of ovarian blood vessels of PCOS
thus affecting the occurrence and development of the syndrome.
