The wrist retinaculum is a thickened part of the deep fascia of the forearm around the wrist joint

which can be divided into the palmar flexor retinaculum (FR) and the dorsal extensor retinaculum (ER). They play a stabilizing

supporting and protective role for the wrist tendons and nerves

but the presence of the wrist retinaculum is also closely related to the occurrence of certain diseases. In this review article

we provide the progress of imaging studies in the anatomical structure

normal imaging findings and imaging findings of related diseases of wrist retinaculum.
