SHEN Yingchao, LU wei, JIANG Xiaowei, et al. Application of "eggshell" modified balloon technique in percutaneous kyphoplasty[J]. null, 2019,(9):735.DOI:
the "eggshell" technique was used to optimize balloon formation
and various clinical and imaging indicators were observed to explore the efficacy of the new method. Methods From August 2018 to January 2019
48 cases of osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral fractures treated in our department were observed.According to the different surgical methods
they were divided into the observation group and the control group. In the observation group (24 cases)
"eggshell" technique was used to optimize balloon formation during percutaneous kyphoplasty. In the control group(24 patients) were treated with the classic percutaneous kyphoplasty.Visual analogue scale score of pain(VAS)
Oswestry disability index(ODI) and imaging Genant′s semiquantitative method were used to determine the degree of vertebral deformity and bone cement permeability. Results There was no significant difference in VAS and ODI scores between the two groups(P>0.05).The bone cement leakage rate in the observation group was 12.5%
while it was 25% in the observation group
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In the observation group
the percentage of degree Ⅰ after Genant′s semiquantitative spell was 82%
and it was 75% in the control group
with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion In percutaneous kyphoplasty
"eggshell" optimized balloon shaping technique is used to treat osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral fracture
